Dh and I have been learning CSS and how to change little things on our Blogs. It was been fun, but at times frustrating! What a HUGE learning curve! I think we have tweaked this one to where I LIKE it now.
I did create a button to share with you , to place on your Blogs, but the scroll box won’t work..we think it’s just has to do with WordPress. I even had a lady who designs Blogs and knows HTML, try and help me. She couldn’t get it to work either….so if you want to use the button, right-click on it and save it as a picture and them you should be able to add it. I will continue to try and work on the scroll box problem.
**I finished photo editing my last session! YEAH! I also have my curriculum pretty much done. Now, I just have to wrap up some details and then start working on menus and grocery list for our company!

Field Trips
This year we have not taken many field trips unlike the past years. We have really missed them as they help to round out our School. Our favorite is going to plays at out local theatres. This month we will be visiting a few parks with our group and one we have not yet been too. WE are excited as it has a waterfall and play area…I hope to get some great pics, of course!
Once when we get settled in our new area in a few months..this school year it will be fun to explore and I am surewe will have many field trips to go on as everything wil be new to us! What are your favorite field trips?

This week has been a bit crazy with 3 home showings in 3 days! At least the house has been clean! The dog’s stitches have been healing well, we had to get her one of those lovely fashionable cones for her head to keep her from getting at them. She only has to wear it in her crate, when it’s time to go in there she like bows down and submits, kinda like “if I have to wear that thing”! So cute. I have spent the week doing my last photo sessions, editing and delivering everything! I shot my last and am editing it now! I am still finishing up the curriculum I am writing for the class I am teaching on Saturday, almost done! We are no in full preparation for my brother and his families visit, as well as getting our ”out processing” check list taken care of…dr. appts, dentist records, etc, etc.
This week for school the kid basically just focused on math and more math! I have to help them with a few problems tonight and do all the checking, but at least we are getting somewhere! Tomorrow we will listen to our next history CD. I’ll come back and add what we learned about here.
I think I am going to have my brother read The Shakespeare Stories to us every night, won’t that be so cool in his REAL British accent!
He won’t mind he is a school teacher after all and LOVES Shakespeare!
Both kids had their last piano lesson on Monday, worked at the library on Tuesday. Then Ds went to stay the night at a friends house and Dd went ot the last Youth group meeting with Daddy at our church plant. He had to teach one more time. Today is my dentist appt, I have a cavity!!! And tomorrow is all 4 Dr. appts for us. Saturday is there last swim lessons…last week Ds perfected the Butterfly stroke! And Dd swam the back stroke across the whole pool! Yeah!
*A side note, Dh went to the base, for major blood work, so they can start him on his Thyroid meds as soon as the results come in! YEAH! Gall Bladder wise he is great! Eating salad and broccoli, which are things he hadn’t been able to eat in a long time! Tonight we are trying beans! Yikes! Dh also has had a long busy week training his replacement at work!
Blessings~

Daisy did great in her surgery and is recovering well, acts normal but has been throwing up? We think it’s the cream they gave us to put on her stitches. We are going to discontinue the use and see what happens.
After over a month of NO showings on our home, we had one last night and have one scheduled for today! I even had to rearrange a photo session because of it! We are praying HARD that this will be one of our buyers! It would be so great to be able to look at homes to buy rather than rentals! But we KNOW God’s timing is perfect! I always say. “He may not be early but he is ALWAYS on time!”
Off to our last paino lesson here…have a great day!

What hasn’t worked for you?
Well right off the bat, every time I even see “Teach Your Child to Read in a 100 Easy Lesson” I cringed! I hated that book and so did my son! I know there are people who swear by it, but it DID NOT work for us!
Secondly Saxon math. I listened to “everyone” in the homeschool realm who says at 4th grade you HAVEto change to Saxon, no matter what your currently using. It is the best…blah blah blah! Well, we had been using Math-U-See from Kindergarten day one, loved it. But I felt we HAD to switch since that’s what was expected! At the time MUS was under going there “change over” to their Greek alpha-bet books. So, I got Saxon 4th grade for both kids. I hated it. The kids both hated it. No one said a word to each other. We just did it everyday. I went to a conference where a lady talked about the “new” structure of MUS. I got the bug and wanted SOOO bad to go back to it. I went home and talked to the kids…fronting it with they didn’t HAVE to go back , but I would like them to. Well, they BOTH jumped for joy! And said they couldn’t wait! LOL! I asked them why neither had said anything to me before this. They thought this was just how it was “suppose” to be! YUCK!
Lastly I would say the Critical Thinking Activity workbooks. I spent quite a bit of money on those puppies, and my kids just didn’t “get it”. There was some I didn’t even know what they were asking!?? I would use the answer key to go backwards to “see” what they were wanting to kids to do….and still couldn’t figure them out!

I haven’t posted about our Daisy lately. She truly is the BEST dog we have ever owned! She has done so well in her potty training and some obeidience. We are still working on that and walking on the leash properly.
She just finished up all her shots and was boarded for the first time this past weekend. We all missed her greatly! We saw 1 Welsh and 2 Cardigan’s at the campground. MAN, is our Dog beautiful! She is getting spaded tomorrow morning. We really would love the breed her just once, but don’t want to deal with all the stuff that comes along with it. She has that teenager look right now, even that lankie skinny look to her…(as skinny as a Corgi can look, LOL!). She is loosing her teeth left and right! We had to get a new crate for her as she was getting too long! Anyway- just thought I would update you on her!
(Her signature pose with her leg out.)
The Pembroke and the Cardigan Welsh Corgis have been considered separate breeds for only about 70 years. There are several theories about the origins of the Welsh Corgi. Both Corgi varieties may be descended from Swedish Vallhunds brought to Wales by Vikings in the 800’s. Or perhaps the Cardigan is the older variety, brought to Wales by the Celts in about 1200 BC. The name “Corgi” comes from the Celtic word for dog. Another source claims that the Pembroke varieties were brought to Wales by Flemish weavers in the 1100’s. No matter what the breed’s true early history, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed developed in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and was used to drive cattle by nipping their heels and barking. His low stature helped him roll out of the way when a cow kicked. Corgis still maintain that habit when chasing each other. The Pembroke and Cardigan varieties were freely interbred until the 1930’s, after which time breeders tried to accentuate their differences. A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is well-known as the favorite breed and pet of Queen Elizabeth II. Because of royal favor, and perhaps because of a slightly gentler personality, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi has become very popular, while the Cardigan is not as widespread. Some of the Pembroke’s talents include: herding, watchdogging, guarding, and competitive obedience.

After a fun weekend and traveling, we got back into the swing of things. Dh had his doctor appt. and was released to go back to work. Which he did on Wednesday, and had a STACK of paperwork on his desk, that will take forever to get through! Poor guy! In school this week-
Bible: We listened to Acts 16-18 on the way home from our visit at Nana & Papa’s. We didn’t get to our memory scriptures this week. In our personal Bible reading we finished Psalm…wow! 150 chapters! Now, we are on to Proverbs.
History: I bet you can’t guess what we did this week? Our TIME LINE!!!!!!! Praise the Lord! We finally got to it! Not only did we put in all the figures we had ready but we also got caught up to where we are now! YYYIIPPPEEEE!!!! Where are we now, you ask? We are in the Middle Ages!
Just this week we reviewed about the Fall of Rome. And began learning about the early days of Britain {Celts, Angles, Saxons, and the Barbarian invasions}, Beowulf, Augustine bringing Christianity to Britain, as well as the Monks and hand written books. Then we finished up with The Byzantine Emperor and the Church of the east. It was a lot of info in a short time but using The Story of the World it was easy!
Math: Both kids put a fire under there bottoms and moved on in math. The both finished all their tests and corrections in their workbooks. And 2 whole lessons this week. They also finished their Caluladders!
We skipped Poetry & Art this week. (Sacrificed the time for Timeline, YEAH!)
Blogging, Typing, Wordly Wise and Easy Grammar was all done as well. I need to check the latter 2.
This week we had no lessons, piano or voice/keyboard, no youth group or Judah Live practice. So, I let the kids work 2 days at the Library this week. They have swimming on Saturday.
We are gearing up for our company coming for 5 five weeks! Making menu plans & grocery list, travel plans and booking hotel rooms, etc…etc…etc. Also the activity plans for when we return from the south. The kids got a lot of free coupons from the reading program that will be very useful when they are here! YEAH!
We are also trying to make decisions about our up coming moving, and I am finishing up my photography sessions. This was suppose to be my last week of sessions, but 3 have had to be reschedule into next week. So, life is busy!
Happy Schooling!

We went to visit Dh’s side of the family for the long weekend. On Thursday night we went to watch Fireworks and on Friday the grandparents, one of our nephews, and all of us went out to the campground for the day. The kids swam, fished, road bikes and PLAYED until dark! We cooked out (steaks) and had chocolate cake around the camp fire! YUM!
(Collage I made of all the firework shots I took!)
The 2 boys stayed the night at the campground with Papa, while the rest of us went home to real beds! On the way home we got to watch another firework show…it was awesome and lasted for over 1/2 hour! On Saturday we shopped and had a nice quiet day. After church on Sunday everyone (14 of us) came over for a fun day and dinner! Good weekend visiting family! Hope you had a great weekend too!
(All but 2 cousins on this side of the family! The oldest is grown and the youngest lives in Florida!)
